Since creating The Minimalist Plate Facebook page 8 months ago, I’ve enjoyed the opportunity to share articles, thoughts, ideas, and images to inspire simplicity. I feel extremely fortunate to live in a country where I (we) have the freedom to share simplicity with those around me. In our world of technology and social media we have the chance to deliver words of encouragement and kindness right to someone’s screen – in the next town over or to the other side of the world.
The holiday season can feel a bit crazy as the year draws to an end. There’s a plethora of holiday parties attend, meals to plan, gifts to give, kids holiday school activities to see, and the list goes on. We go from one activity to the next, sometimes even before finishing the first. When do we pause and take time for a breath in this moment?

How can we take time to enjoy what is right in front of us? The answer is usually always less. Own less. Do less. Stop chasing the perfect holiday season so you can be who you are, right where you are. Give yourself permission to say no to the busyness and hop off that crazy train. As Courtney Carver at Be More With Less said so well, “Just because everything is crazy around you, doesn’t mean it has to be crazy within you.”
