Thank you for making 2018 such an incredible year at Raising Simple. The website, Facebook page, and Instagram page continue to grow each month as a result of the support from readers like you. Thank you for sharing, encouraging, and inspiring the simplicity message shared at Raising Simple.

I’m especially thankful for the connection and relationships that have been built with the readers and simplicity bloggers (that’s you!) here! To be able to bring encouragement, community, and tools to simplify your daily lives is always an honor.

But before 2018 comes to an end, let’s do a year-end review! 2018 marks our second year here at Raising Simple, and it sure has been full of surprises!

This article shares Amazon Affiliate links, which means I receive a small commission on what you purchase through the link (at no extra cost to you!). Thank you for supporting my work!

Highlights from 2018.

My book, Minimalism for Families, had it’s one year birthday! Thanks for all the book-birthday wishes here! I know many of you have found it helpful. If you shared the book, wrote a review, or purchased Minimalism for Families, thank you so much for your support. I hope it adds value to your life! If you haven’t left a review, I’d be grateful if you could here.

And I’m thrilled to share that Minimalism for Families will be released in an audio version in 2019!

Why Kids Need a Minimalist Closet + How to Create One After experiencing the benefits of less, I knew my kids needed a minimalist closet. One that was kid-friendly. You may be wondering exactly what a minimal kid-friendly closet means. Isn’t a minimalist closet already kid friendly? Perhaps. In our home, a minimalist kid-friendly closet has what they need, where they need it.

It’s Ok to Stop Filling All Your Space.  Slowly, the excess snuck in. Ok, I brought it in. The shelves in our pantry became filled to capacity. Our bedroom closets were brimming with clothing and other items that required out of sight storage. The built-in shelves in the living room were quickly filled with decorative items, and soon there was decorative furniture to fill in nearly all space that was not required as a pathway. This was just the beginning of setting up our home.

13 Practical Ways to Simplify Meals  Simplifying your meals isn’t just about fueling your body, saving money, time, and reducing decision fatigue—although these are all great things. Simplifying our meals at home is about getting back to connecting. It’s about being intentional so you can give the best of you instead of what’s left of you.

Some of My Favorite Guest Work of 2018.

Holiday Q+A on the Simple Families Podcast The holidays are upon us. I am here to tell you that you don’t need to do or buy all.the.things. Today is the first of a two-part series focused on answering your questions about living a more intentional holiday season. I am joined by Rachelle Crawford from Abundant Life with Less and Zoë Kim from Raising Simple. Together we are moving through your questions and bringing examples from our own lives and small pieces of wisdom to take forth into the holiday season.

Wardrobe on the Sage Family Podcast In this podcast episode we talk about how a minimalist wardrobe benefits us and our children, how we created minimalist wardrobes in our home, how often we need to refresh our clothing, our best organization tips, how we tackle the hand-me-downs, and our system for packing.

Why Your Space May Be Better Empty by Rachelle of Abundant Life With Less. While every closet of mine was filled to the brim and my walls always seemed to need a little something extra, my calendar was just as bad. I always had something to do and somewhere to go. Empty space of any kind feels awkward and uncomfortable.

How to Build a Minimalist Pantry by Melissa Coleman of The Faux Martha. You can clean out your clothes closets, add storage bins, fold or hang your clothes in a certain way, and it works. The closet stays fairly clean and organized with very little maintenance. But the pantry is another kind of closet beast.

Thank you again for being a part of this journey here ar Raising Simple. We are so incredibly grateful for your support in sharing the simplicity message! We hope you have a wonderful year in 2019!

xoxo,

Zoë

Are you dieting this year? I’m not talking about Are you dieting this year? I’m not talking about the kind of diet where you watch, weigh, or count what you eat. More of a good thing is not always better. How man More of a good thing is not always better. How many toys or activities actually benefit a child? The answer to that question is not what’s important. It’s asking the question in the first place that matters.
